My writing buddy, Lori Robinett, posted this picture to my FB page. It was intended as inspiration, or a friendly reminder, to get on with my novel. Instead, it reminded me that I wanted to be sure to catch the next episode of Castle. That’s the Law of Unintended Consequences.
Lori is right. I SHOULD be writing on my novel, or my non-fiction history book, or even that half-finished memoir. I signed up for the A-Z Blogging Challenge because I hoped the daily writing deadline would be a little warm-up exercise and would lead into hours of happy novel writing. It didn’t happen. Instead, I’ve enjoyed hours of happy blog hopping to other a-z blogs.
New friends like Rita Ackerman, a fellow historian and writer and Stepheny Forgue Houghtlin, a gardener and novelist, have kept me entertained and helped me learn something every day. Through Stepheny, I met John Viccellio and enjoyed watching his gorgeous flower garden bloom into Spring.
Jocelyn Rish chose “fun with fonts” for the A-Z Challenge, and it sure has been fun to see all the crazy fonts she comes up with. Nancy Laronda Johnson sometimes makes me laugh and always makes me think with her blog.
These are just a few of the new friends I made this month and I can’t regret a moment of it, even though I know I should be writing.
W is for Writing.
